Park Studio Classes
The seasonal classes invite participants to engage in condensed sessions as a way to experiment, explore or jump-start their involvement in the park studio dance program.

The Park Studio program track is a studio program designed around the Park District community culture. This track is for dancers of all ages and experience levels who are looking for a progressive session and higher commitment level with participation in a final Spring Production. Production Fees included! Within this program, participants can engage in core studio-level dance classes.

Ballet/Tap
Levels A, B, & I
​
We will explore different styles of dance during this summer session including tap, ballet, jazz & hip hop. Each class will include technique, concept exploration, movement games and choreography. This is a great way to sample many styles of dance. Please wear comfortable, form-fitted clothing and ballet shoes OR jazz shoes (tap shoes not required but can be used during certain classes).
Ballet/Lyrical
Level II&III
​
Ballet/Lyrical Combo will focus on the core movements and techniques of classical and modern forms of ballet. Classes include stretches, barre work, class etiquette, center work, across the floor and choreography. Please wear leotard, tights, or comfortable form fitted clothing, ballet shoes.
Tap
Level II&III
​
Tap will focus on the fundamentals of this percussive style of dance and will allow dancers to focus on their skills, technique and rhythm. Classes include stretches, class etiquette, center work, across the floor and choreography. Please wear leotard, tights, or comfortable form fitted clothing, tap shoes.
Hip Hop/Jazz
Levels A&B, I, II&III

Jazz music and dance evolved over the years into the popular style of Hip Hop! Dancers will learn basic jazz and hip hop techniques along with popping, locking, and many other cool tricks and moves to energetic pop music. Please wear leotard, tights, or comfortable form fitted clothing, jazz shoes.
Musical Theatre
Learn jazz technique and skills specifically used in theatrical dance. Plus learn how to create characters, improvise, memorize lines, breakdown a scene and everything an actor needs to know. This class is a great opportunity for dancers who are interested in a Lead Role in the Spring Production. No previous dance or theatre experience needed. All levels welcome. Please wear comfortable form fitting clothing and jazz shoes.
DiscoverDance with Me
Ages Walking-3 years + Participating Guardian

Explore the joy of movement with your child and discover the many benefits of early childhood dance classes. We will dance, sing, and play in both one-on-one activities and group activities. Through circle activities, open exploration, and gross motor development exercises, children will blossom with class as they grow with their caregiver during this precious time together. Please wear comfortable, form-fitted clothing and bare feet. Guardian participation required!
DiscoverDance Tots
Ages 2-3
​
Watch your child’s independence and confidence soar, as our dancers explore and discover the benefits of a more structured dance class and attend class independently. Following directions, waiting for our turn, and collectively problem-solving will encourage emotional and social development. Live singing, musical play, and sensory props will have these little ones moving and grooving with their friends and eager to return to class each week! Please wear comfortable, form-fitted clothing and bare feet.
**2 yr olds are Strongly Encouraged to have 2 sessions of previous experience in DiscoverDance with me prior to joining DDT. Dancers attend class independently, without guardian participation.
Discover Ballet
Ages 3-6

This class is designed for beginner ballerinas. Classes include stretches, barre work, class etiquette, basic technique, games and learning choreography. Please wear leotard, tights, or comfortable form fitted clothing, ballet shoes.
Monster Mash
Ages 3-8
​
Hip Hop dance technique, movement games, crafts and choreography to your favorite Halloween music.
Nutcracker Ballet
Ages 3-8
​
Dress up in your best ballet attire and join Ms. Lora for an afternoon of Nutcracker fun. Our day will start with a fun craft and reading the story of the Nutcracker followed by a dance class full of ballet technique, movement games, and choreography to the music of the Nutcracker.
Dance & Read with Me
Ages walking-6 years + Caregiver Participation
